Krista Halling, DVM, CCRT, Diplomate ACVS

Dr. Halling brings over 20 years of surgical and rehabilitation expertise and enjoys educating general practitioners and pet owners.

After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College with awards for academic achievement and leadership, Dr. Halling completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Colorado State University, followed by a residency in Small Animal Surgery at the University of Florida.

Dr. Halling achieved board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and Certification in Canine Rehabilitation from the University of Tennessee.

Dr. Halling was Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the Ontario Veterinary College, co-owner and medical director of the surgery department at Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital, and founder of Grey Goose Mobile Veterinary Surgery as well as assisting the National Wildlife Centre with surgeries on injured wildlife.

Dr. Halling has written several journal publications and book chapters, lectured internationally, and has advanced expertise in veterinary physical rehabilitation, sports medicine, wound management and external skeletal fixation.

Partnered with world-class adventurer John Freeman, Dr. Halling co-founded Dogpacking.com, a soon-to-be-live online resource containing the most current evidence-based information for dog owners on how to safely adventure with their dog.

When not lecturing on surgical topics, Dr. Halling is an avid trail runner, cyclist, paddler and enjoys travelling and pursuing outdoor adventures with her goldendoodle sidekick, River.
